The decisions that this government has made in the past to defer responsibility for our energy polices, debt accumulation and entitlement programs must come to an end. Difficult choices must be made. We need new leaders with the courage to implement new ideas and put this nation back on a sustainable path.

I'm not saying it will be easy. This country has some very difficult choices ahead but done correctly we will be on course for energy independence and financial stability.

I see the opportunity for America to do the right thing. Energy independence, tax reform and entitlement recalibration must be implemented now to avoid severe austerity later.

Mr. Edison is correct that oil is a finite resource. If oil reserves dwindle and demand increases, simple economics will dictate that oil prices will head for ever increasing prices. This would hurt any oil dependent nation severely.

"I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that."

It would be smart economic policy to consider a much more sustainable source of power like the sun, wind or even algae bio fuel. My National Energy Security Act will ensure that we address and remedy this country's oil dependence problem now so that we will avoid oil price spikes and eventual oil depletion in the future.

The National Energy Security Act will solve our oil addiction problems by bringing together the most knowledgeable and imaginative people from the scientific community. Together they will lead this country using new ideas, technology and techniques to free this country from oil.

Every election the same politicians run for office and win 90% of the time. Leaving "stunned" Americans wondering why things never improve.

Every summer gas prices start to head north and everyone complains but no one really does anything about it. These are the two greatest examples of insanity I've ever seen.

I feel that only a fresh pair of eyes can view the problems of this country without the haze of a party's ideology or owing political favors. I would bring new energy and new ideas that this country so desperately needs and the current powers that be lack.

Every election most voters feel like it's the lesser of two evils and unfortunately they are usually correct. I am daring greatly to represent a 3rd option: an idea instead of the same politicians and parties as usual.

I don't know if I'm a success yet but if I get 150,000 friends to vote for me and a million people to donate a few dollars I will change the political games played in Washington forever.

Our addiction to oil is economically damming. Our national debt will crush future generations, the tax code is over 72,000 pages & entitlement programs will run dry. Serious ideas and actions are needed to ensure this country's continued superpower status and I just don't think the current politicians have the "guts" to get it done.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand."

Constant brinkmanship and failure to meet in the middle and compromise will be the down fall of this republic.

JFK was talking about the space program, but the same can be said for my National Energy Security Act. If the United States focused its best resources on energy independence there is no reason why we can't beat our oil addiction. A renewed national spirit of accomplishment, unity and "can do" attitude is exactly what this country needs right now.

A nation with cheap energy and a population with more income to spend is a great economic formula for success.

I am not a politician; I will not be bound by that definition. I am running a campaign based on an idea that I believe most voters can relate too.

I think every American that fills up their gas tank will agree that they would be in a much better financial situation if they weren't paying about $4 a gallon. My leadership in Washington will be for the people of America and will be for all of our best interests.

My National Energy Security Act will free America from its oil dependency and stimulate the economy without raising taxes or adding to the debt. It will be an expense cut for almost every American. That's good for America according to any yardstick

Current "popular parties" have been timid for far too long. Current "leaders" have lost their way and must be replaced with new energy and new ideas that will strengthen this country for the benefit of all Americans.

We now have the opportunity to free this country from an economically abusive oil addiction. Past generations of great Americans have built the foundation of this country: They built the nation's highways that connect us all, built public schools that educate our children, taken us to the moon & even won the Cold War. Imagine what we can accomplish standing on those generation's shoulders.

Too often parties and pundits choose to scapegoat instead of solve. Placing blame on the other party or immigrants, the poor, the rich, minorities, majorities etc… We should not look to place blame for the past but instead work toward this nations collective good rewarding all without penalizing any.

The concentrated powers of the two party system no longer is effective in governing as every vote seems to be along party lines where compromise is punished and brinkmanship rewarded.

The concentrated powers of the oil companies with their lobbyists and millions in campaign contributions must also be addressed as a poison to this great country.

A recalibration of our tax code, spending budget and entitlement programs is desperately needed with all citizens understanding the responsibilities we must accept for the benefit of all and the betterment of our country.

It will not be easy to gain energy independence or to recalibrate the tax code or entitlement reform. Deep down most Americans know that serious choices must be made to avoid calamitous consequences.

Politicians blame "them" for everything instead of thinking how are "we" going to fix this for "all of us". That's the problem with politicians today. I wish to be a statesman that cares about the next generation, not the next election. I care about solving major issues, not scoring political points. If I am elected I can guarantee you that every Democrat and every Republican will be singing a different tune after seeing one of their own go down in flames to a political upstart with a good idea and a lot of popular backing.

Let us gather the sun light and winds that the lord has bestowed upon us instead of wallowing in the dirt for oil and coal.

I am taking on the powerful oil industry and an incumbent republican. A David vs. Goliath battle if ever there was one. No matter how impossible the odds seem I have faith and strength to preserver.

There is no vision in Washington and the people suffer. A brighter vision for America is what God intends for us. It is our manifest destiny to break free from the bonds of oil addiction and lead the world once again towards peace and prosperity.

The truth is we will need both cuts to spending and raising of revenue through significant tax code reform in order to put our fiscal house back in order. Anyone that tells you otherwise is probably a politician pandering to his base or one of his lobbyists.

The truth is energy independence will not be provided to us by Exxon Mobil or BP. We have to make it happen by not being addicted to a finite resource.

My work and the work of the people will not be easy but if we press forward with the National Energy Security Act we shall reap the benefits of energy independence.

I seek a brighter future for my country based on the belief that together we can accomplish anything. If we seek energy independence we will find it.
